Anti-Aging Treatments
Anti-aging goes beyond simply looking younger. It’s about increased energy level, improved mental clarity, and preventative wellness. Treatment options include:
Options for treatment vary and are individualized to meet each persons needs. Possible approaches include:
- Hormone therapy Boosting hormones to a more youthful levels can not only improve how we feel on a daily basis, but can also offer preventative health benefits in terms of bone health and preventing age-related atrophy.
- NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is naturally produced by our bodies and is a key component for mitochondrial function (important for energy production). Levels gradually drop with age and due to inflammation, oxidative stress, and other environmental factors. In addition to its role in improving physical endurance and decreasing symptoms of chronic fatigue, research suggests that NAD+ supplementation can improve mental clarity, memory, concentration, and alertness. It has been helpful to combat dull/tired skin, and to improve sleep quality. This makes it an excellent addition to any anti-aging regimen. It can be delivered IV or via injection (into the muscle or just below the skin). Oral formulations are unlikely to be of significant benefit.
- Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant, often referred to as the “master antioxidant”. It can help fight the effects of free radicals which cause oxidative stress, damage healthy cells, and contribute to aging and certain degenerative diseases. Levels decline with age, and can diminish further as a result of stress, malnutrition, and environmental toxins. In addition to supporting anti-aging efforts, glutathione has been used in the setting of many disease states, including arterial plaque deposition, liver disease, memory loss, and Parkinson disease. It may improve immune function, reduce belly fat, and promote a healthy complexion. Glutathione is not absorbed well via oral supplements (e.g., pills). IV infusion, intramuscular injection, or sublingual spray is recommended. (Note: For Parkinson disease, IV infusion is strongly recommended).
- Sermorelin is a new, safer alternative to human growth hormone (hGH) which was popular years ago. However, this older version decreased the body’s natural production of hGH. Sermorelin promotes the body to secrete it’s own hGH, a substance that declines with age. Replenishing levels of hGH can help to improve energy levels, increase muscle mass and strength, and optimize fat metabolism. In addition, it can lead to more restful sleep, improve skin elasticity, and boost the immune system. It is administered daily at home via small under the skin injections, or via an under the tongue dissolvable tablet.
- Plasma-Rich fibrin (PRF) is a truly natural approach that has many applications. It involves drawing a sample of your own blood and then spinning it in a centrifuge to isolate numerous bioactive factors that are vital for tissue repair and rejuvenation. It can improve sexual function and satisfaction for both men and women. For women, it can specifically help to alleviate stress incontinence and improve vaginal lubrication. PRF also has an established role in promoting wound healing, particularly those that have been resistant to standard treatment approaches. Finally, through our sister company, Sunflower MediSpa, PRF is used for skin rejuvenation (eyes, face, lips, neck, decollete) and for treatment of hair loss.
- Various other supplements may be helpful, alone or in conjunction with the above, based upon your particular needs.
